CAMEROON BAPTIST CONVENTION PHARMACEUTICAL PRODUCTION
Cinpharm has been producing generic drugs since 2011. Currently the company halted all production and is negotiating the partnership with an international drug manufacturer. At the same time Strides, India in collaboration with a Cameroon Pharmacist is building an even larger company with more manufacturing capacity, also in Douala.
Dr. Gisele Etame is the majority shareholder and in charge of Genemark. This factory produces children's syrups to treat cough, malaria and fever/colds. This company wants to expand syrup production to keep up with demand and thereafter add solid oral drug tablet production. CEO Dr. Etame is successfully expanding production and gaining market shares.
Currently, Cinpharm is reorganizing and looking for strategic alliances and partners. The company wants to branch into more lucrative specialty drug markets such as oncology and high blood pressure drugs, which are scarcely available in Cameroon.
DRUG PRODUCTION AND COLLABORATIONS
We are fortune to have intensified our collaboration with the Cameroonian Baptist Convention. They produce sterile IV fluids, eye drops and ointments for internal use. They recently added drinking water/ bottling capabilities. Thanks in part to Hoffmann-La Roche Technology Transfer Initiative specialist Luc Schnitzler's visit, the main players in Cameroons pharmaceutical production came together.
